Sussex Police suffer gay porn attack

Dot gone

SUSSEX POLICE sent local residents to a homosexual pornography portal site, in a mis-aimed bid to tackle crime and grime.

Local paper The Argus picked up that a leaflet dropped through hundreds of letterboxes from the boys in blue should have pointed local people at the domain www.sussex.police.uk.

Instead, it directed them to www.sussexpolice.co.uk a non-police, Not Safe For Work website.

The flyer was supposed to inform locals on how to protect their property and gave advice on setting up neighbourhood watch groups. More details on these schemes were to be found online, but locals were pointed at steamy copper-on-copper action in such notable classics as Trucheon Meat and Boys in Blue.

Mum-of-two Lucy Daley, 43, of Haywards Heath, West Sussex, said: “I was absolutely horrified when I logged on and was faced with an advert for free vibrators."

What’s most unfortunate is that the misspelt domain has now been cleaned up. But thanks to the wonders of Google internet cache, we can still show you the sites links in full glory here as the locals first saw them.

A red-faced Sussex Police insider told the Argus last night: “This is very embarrassing. Hopefully, not too many people will try to visit the site.”

The INQ has learnt this is not a solitary case in the Sussex’s police case book. The same misrepresented website has appeared with its dodgy content in a number of other places.

The coppers' own Police Oracle lists the site in an announcement. Chichester district council also ran with the domain as did a press release from Sarum consultancy services.

Who’d have thought leaving out a full-stop would have caused so much trouble? µ

*cackle*

Amazing article. I think I want to move to Sussex now, just based on the "keystone kops" joy that's happening there.

LOL

Maybe they should have used Palit graphics cards.

Just plain lazy

Its plain lazy that whoever created the leaflets did not bother to properly check content, hopefully they have now learned their lesson.

It could be worse, they could've been re-directed to the Cannon & Ball version of Boys In Blue
