Rambus takes an axe to workforce

Rambusted

RAMBUS IS to take an axe to its own workforce, chopping around 90 jobs, or some 21 per cent of its staff.

The firm said the process will cost some $4 million but will save $17 million annually.

Both engineering and non-engineering positions will be affected and the process will be complete by year end, the firm said.

Harold Hughes, president and chief executive at Rambus, said: "This is a difficult but appropriate adjustment that will position us to succeed in our strategic objectives."

Rambus sales for the second quarter of 2008 were $35.7 million, down 25 per cent year on year.

More importantly, revenues from court cases is down. µ

Comments

It's that time again...

Rambus profits are down, time to fire the engineers and hire some lawyers to start some new court cases. Of course sales/profits are down, Rambus makes NOTHING!!! and all of the companies they extort money from are getting tired of paying "protection money."

strategic objectives ?

And what might those be? Litigation and cry baby tactics against more productive innovative companies that do honest engineering and production work that actually make real products that benefit people.
Rambus what is your illness? Go away.
